Signs of the time

A picture is worth a thousand words even if it is taken in the rain from the inside of a car in a parking lot across the street. As a small (really small) business person I feel for the business that is closing. It’s just so shocking to see all those Obama posters on the building as well.

I know I’m not voting for President Obama for the very reason shown in this photo — the economy continues to be terrible, huge numbers of people are still out of work, our children and grandchildren are in debt over their heads because of this administration, welfare is on the rise, and commerce is screeching to a halt like the store in the picture. Obama signs pandering for votes are plastered all over the place anyway. I find it hard to believe that people would miss the irony here. So much about this photograph could be said…

Not real certain I want to vote for Mr. Romney because from where I stand it doesn’t look like the republicans have done much to help the situation. However, I have yet to find a store closing with Romney campaign posters plastered all over.

Just saying.

Minion News

Looks like we have the real pick of the political barrel at the national level this November. From what I hear from the various news outlets one front runner isn’t very sexy and the sitting President seems to prefer getting facetime on Oprah than meet with world leaders.

What I haven’t heard is actual plans for fixing what needs fixed. Lots of folks out there are crying crocodile tears (and spending lots of money) trying to convince me they care more than the other guy. I don’t need sniviling. I need a functional plan. I need to hear what the proposals are for fixing the problems so I can decide which one is the one I want. Quit sending minions to dig through trash or take secret videos to find something on the other guy.

The news outlets, both liberal and conservative, tend to grab a non-fact-checked sound bite and beat it to death. Lots of opinions flying around from “commentators” who make a living letting opinions fly around. I know talking about actual functional proposals is about as fun as sitting at a strategic planning session — but isn’t the office of the President called the “Executive” branch of government? Doesn’t an executive chart a plan that he delivers to the shareholders for approval?

Mr. Romney’s recent very edited sound bite and President Obama’s choice to show up on Oprah instead of meeting with world leaders isn’t what I want to hear.  I’m a shareholder; I want to know what you are going to do.

Well, Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama what are you going to do besides shop at Cosco or get chummy with Oprah?
